Dr. Alexander Philip MD MS MPH

Dr. Alexander Philip is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, educator, and mentor dedicated to helping future physicians succeed from high school through residency and beyond.

He earned his Bachelor’s in Science from the University of Florida, followed by advanced graduate training with a Master of Public Health and a Master’s in Human Physiology at the Medical College of Virginia. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his emergency medicine residency at Northwell Health / Staten Island University Hospital.

Dr. Philip currently practices across a diverse range of emergency care settings, including trauma centers, freestanding emergency departments, and both community and academic hospitals. This breadth of experience allows him to understand and navigate the operational, clinical, and strategic differences across modern emergency medicine environments.

Beyond patient care, Dr. Philip has devoted years to mentoring students and trainees. He has guided numerous applicants through the medical school admissions process, advised medical students pursuing competitive residency positions, and regularly speaks with high school and college students interested in careers in medicine.

His commitment to education has been recognized with multiple honors, including being voted Preceptor of the Year by FGCU and receiving the Masterful Mentor Award from Lee Health for his years of service teaching medical students and physician assistant students. During residency, he was also recognized as Resident of the Year for his excellence in clinical care and teaching.
